Jackie William Haywood, 65, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2021. He was born August 9, 1955 to Frances Evans Thomas and the late Dosson Byrum Haywood. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Haywood; and step-father, Alfred Thomas.
Funeral services will be held from the graveside at 11:00am on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Blakely Funeral Chapel, 714 E. Franklin St, Monroe, NC. In memory of Mr. Haywood, the family requests that all in attendance of the graveside service and visitation wear their blue jeans.
Jackie is survived by his mother, Frances Thomas; children, Travis Haywood (April), Chastity Haywood, and special niece, Frances Baker (Jeremy); sisters, Lynn Smith (Alan), and Cheryle Almond (Gene); long time significant other, Sue Broadway; grandchildren, Amanie Haywood, Adalynn Haywood, Kaylynn Brantley, Tristin Allen, and Harper Haywood; and many other special family members and loved ones.
Jackie was a kind, gentle, caring, and humble man. He was a giving man and cared for every person he met. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone. Jackie enjoyed life. He loved to sit in his man cave watching NASCAR and listening to Wixie 1190am the Swap Shop. He loved to grill out for his family and friends every Sunday. Jackie's memories will forever be cherished in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.
