Mr. Gerald Lynn Weir, Sr., age 72, of Monroe, peacefully went on to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Jesse Helms Nursing Home. A Gravesite Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Officiated by Reverend Eddie Barbee. Mr. Weir was born on January 20, 1949 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, a son of Alma Catoe Weir and the late Frank Cleatus Weir. Survivors include his mother, Alma Catoe Weir; son, Gerald Lynn Weir, Jr.; brother, Robert Weir, Sr. of McBee, SC and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Mr. Weir was preceded in death by his brother Paul Steven Weir and Sister Bettie Weir Finch. Holland Funeral Service is serving the family of Mr. Weir.
