Obituary

"Frankie" Leone was born on September 15, 1931, in Indiana, Pennsylvania. His parents, Frank and Eleanor Leone, raised their five children in Salem, Ohio. Dad was a handsome, gregarious, and popular student at Salem High School. He had four loving sisters, all of whom doted on him throughout his life – Dolores, Gloria, Elaine, and Mary. He is survived by his only remaining sister, Elaine Glaros. Dad joined the US Air Force in 1952 and married our mother, Carol Leone, in 1953. Frank and Carol had four children, one of whom, Frank Michael, passed shortly after birth in 1954. Frank is survived by Carol and his three children, Lesli, Nick, and Lisa, and also leaves behind six grandchildren. Dad is also survived by his second wife, Patricia Leone. What we will remember and cherish most about our father is his love of family and pride in his Italian/Polish heritage, and the joy around Christmastime that he passed down to his children and grandchildren. Dad loved music, especially classic country, R&B, and the "rat pack." He was a passionate and loyal sports fan – Washington Football, the Nationals, and the Baltimore Ravens, especially. However, Dad was happiest when his family was gathered close, enjoying a home-cooked meal and a nice bottle of wine. He was loved by many and blessed with a peaceful passing at his home with his wife by his side. His children would like to thank and recognize our extended family, all across the country, for their care, support, and love during this difficult time. We would also like to thank the team of caregivers who lovingly cared for our father at the end and grieved his loss alongside his family. We are forever grateful for your service. Lastly, we would like to express our deep gratitude toward Carol and David Thompson for their loving care and support of Dad and his wife these past two years - Dad loved you both as his own. Though we mourn the loss of our father, we know that he will forever remain in the hearts & souls of those whose lives he touched. May he now be at peace in God's embrace. We love you, Dad. Though the miles may have separated us, you were always home in our hearts. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, Love leaves memories no one can steal. In Loving Memory of a Wonderful Father Frank N. Leone, 09/15/31-10/28/20
