Donald "Hawk" Calvin Thompson, 78, passed away September 18, 2025. He was born March 12, 1947 to the late Kenneth Thompson and Jean Addison Thompson. In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in passing by his brothers, Ronald Thompson Sr. and K.K. Thompson. Donald was a member of Back to Bethel Church, where he attended faithfully until his health no longer allowed. In his earlier years, he served in the Army as a Black Baret. Donald will be remembered for being a wonderful grandfather, stepfather, and a best friend to his dear wife, Lynn.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00pm on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Holland Funeral Service Marshville Location, 136 E. Main Street, Marshville, NC 28103.

Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Lynn Thompson, children, Erik Tobin of Cordova, NC, Tammy Wielhouwer of Williamstown, NJ, and Shannon Tobin of Monroe, NC; grandchildren, Trinity Tobin, Devyn Marsh, Sayvon Marsh, and Tyler Tobin, and sister, Cheryl Frager of Manahawkin, NJ, and numerous nieces and nephews.
