Derek Sean O'Bryan

December 14, 1964 - April 22, 2024

Derek, age 59, of Monroe, NC passed away at CMC Main in Charlotte, NC on April 22, 2024 after fighting a long battle from the effects of a massive heart attack.

Born on December 14, 1964 in Epstein, Germany, he was the beloved son of Vera Baumeister O'Bryan.

Derek had a lifelong love of automobiles and was an avid mechanic. He loved to work on anything that had wheels and a motor. He was always willing to help his family and friends when they asked. He loved teaching his nephews about dirt bikes, 4 wheelers and go carts. He was a wealth of knowledge about anything motorized. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he left behind.

In addition to his mother, those survivors left to cherish his memory include his sister Pia and husband Terry, of Monroe, NC, his niece Kristina and her family, of Matthews, NC, his nephew JT and his family, of Monroe, NC. His Aunt Ellen and Uncle Wilhelm, cousins Stefan and Eva and their families in Germany. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Dr. Kurt and Edith Baumeister of Germany.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 27th at 11am at Holland Funeral Home, 806 Circle Drive in Monroe, NC 28112. Family and friends will be welcome to the home of his sister following the service.
