Obituary

Our sweet angel entered into his heavenly home on December 9, 2024. Daniel was born in Binghamton, NY, to the late Daniel Patrick O'Connell (1943-2016) and late Marie Emilee (Martens) O'Connell (1945-1966). Daniel graduated from Maine-Endwell Senior High School in 1983. Following graduation (1984) he joined the United States Army, where he served 2 years in Schofield, HI. During his time in the service, he completed his 25th Infantry Division Support Command Leadership Development Course and completed the Utilities Equipment Repairer Course. Receiving diplomas or certificates for both. After leaving the Army, he became a master craftsman and was quite the handy man. His wood working skills were one of a kind and impressed many. He took pride in his work and career. On November 17, 1993, he had a beautiful daughter (Emily M. O'Connell), who he absolutely adored and cherished! His hobbies included: golfing, fishing, playing pool, disc golf and bowling. He also had a great love for music. In the recent years he spent most of his time helping others. Daniel loved to make people laugh and is loved by so many! His soul is beautiful, and his spirit is one of a kind.

Daniel is proceeded in death by his parents, Daniel P. O'Connell and Marie E. O'Connell (Martens). He is survived by his daughter Emily M. O'Connell, sister Pamela Burns (Gary), stepmother Carolyn Manos, half-sister Maryann (Scott), stepsister Heather Scrip, stepbrother Michael Scrip, many- nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and his best friend and companion Mary Garceau (son Derrick)

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to David's Advocacy for the Homeless, an organization that was dear to his heart and he spent many days volunteering with.

A Celebration of Life for our angel will be held this spring.
