Columbus Edward Helms, 67, passed away August 23, 2025. Columbus was born July 2, 1958, to the late Hosea and Callie Helms.

In addition to his parents, Columbus is preceded in passing by his wife, Marilyn C. Helms, his brother, Avery Helms, Sisters, Myrtle Thompson, Ruth Williams, and Carrie Morris.

Columbus loved to cut up, he was always for a good laugh. He cared dearly for his children and will be missed dearly by the community of family and friends. Along with all the other children he helped care for throughout his life.

He is survived by his son, Edward Helms(Meagan), Daughter, Anna Helms, Grandchildren, Natalie Helms and Johnny Helms, Brothers, John Helms (Terry), James Helms, and Hosea Helms Jr., Sisters, Minnie Sanchez, and Margaret Helms (Steven).

A Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 1:45pm on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 following the service will start at 2:00pm at Roanoke Baptist Church, 618 Roanoke Church Rd, Unionville, NC 28110.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the funeral home to help alleviate funeral expenses.
