Christopher Lee Spradlin, 50, originally from Monroe, LA, passed away August 27, 2023, at his home in Charlotte, NC. He was born on July 25, 1973 to his parents, Gary Spradlin of Saskatchewan, Canada and Charlotte Wallace of Charlotte, NC, originally from Monroe, LA.

A celebration of life gathering will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library - Mint Hill Branch 6840 Matthews-Mint Hill Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227.

Chris served his country in the U.S. Navy. Upon returning to civilian life, he earned a BA in English at the University of Louisiana Monroe in Monroe, LA. Chris then went on to earn a Master's at The University of Florida, in Gainesville, Fl. He was a member of various literary and honors societies at both universities. Two of these were Phi Alpha Theta -Epsilon Tau Chapter and Sigma Tau Delta- Beta Zeta Chapter. In 2015, Chris began a new career as a library assistant at Charlotte Mecklenburg Library. During a remodeling at his branch, he worked in teen services of a different branch. Chris was promoted in 2021 to Teen Services Library Associate for the Mint Hill branch.

Chris was a loving, giving, and caring man. He was an avid collector of Star Wars action figures and a Dungeons & Dragons enthusiast. The world will not be the same without Chris, but the impact he has had on the lives of all who knew him will be felt forever.

Chris is survived by his mother, Charlotte Wallace and his son, Oliver Spradlin of Austin, TX.
