Charles "Charlie" Kenneth Howard passed away surrounded by his family at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center after a long battle with heart failure on March 2, 2024. He was born February 17, 1950, to the late Jesse Earl Howard and Mary Chloe Crisco. Charlie attended Piedmont High School where he met his sweetheart, Trish. The two were happily married for  50 years. Charlie was a quiet and gentle giant friend to anyone that knew him; but was never afraid to speak the truth and be brutally honest whenever it was needed. He was a great fisherman, a master cook and loved the outdoors. Over the last 35 years, Charlie drove a truck for Lance and Estes and owned a restaurant in Wingate known as "Seafood Haven." Additionally, he spent over 20 years at Griffin Farms cooking and enjoying time with his friends. As Charlie would say, many people would know him from riding across town at Logan's, The American Legion, or the VFW of Indian Trail and Monroe. Charlie will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 2:00pm until 2:45pm.

In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in passing by his beloved wife, Patricia Diane Howard; brothers, Clyde, Homer, Pete, Wade and Melvin; and his sisters, Polly, and Pat.

Charles is survived by his daughters, Brandi Howard of Waxhaw, NC, Amber Campbell (Jared) of Tega Cay, SC, Emily Belcher of Matthews, NC, and son-in-law, Harvey Belcher (Katie) of Waxhaw, NC; siblings, Viola Howard of Albemarle, NC, Gary Howard (Helen) of Wingate, NC, Keith Howard (Pam) of New Salem, NC, and sister-in-laws, Margaret Howard of Charlotte, NC, and Katherine Howard of Marshville, NC; grandchildren, Candice Deese (Kanan), Tyler Helms, Lillie Belcher, Charlie Campbell, Carter Belcher, Cole Campbell, Claire Campbell, Stella Belcher, Hailey Belcher, and Ivan Belcher.
