Brian "Hoss" James Lawton, 67, of Marshville, NC passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025 peacefully at home with his daughters by his side. Brian was born on June 1, 1958 in Syracuse, NY. Brian was predeceased by his father, James Lawton; his mother, Evelyn Lawton and his sisters, Susan Crook (George) and Kim Lawton. Brian is survived by his daughters, Pamela Murphy and Gail Popa (Jason); his brother, John Lawton; his nephew, Eric Crook; his niece, Susan Markley (Terry); his grandchIldren, Phoenix Sovie, Caileigh Sovie and Samara Popa; as well as Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Brian graduated from West Genesee High School in Camillus, NY. Brian spent much of his childhood working at his family's garage where he developed a love for quite literally anything with a motor and turning it into a career as a mechanic. When he was eventually told he could no longer physically work as a mechanic, he became a Service Writer where he continued to excel in his automotive career. Brian was an avid lover of music, loved playing guitar, listening to movie soundtracks and Glen Campbell. Brian also loved movies, with a rather impressive movie collection and his all-time favorite tv show Then Came Bronson.
