Billy Joe Mills

May 3, 1933 – January 22, 2025

Billy "Joe" Mills, 91 of Marshville, passed away peacefully, Wednesday January 22 at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Fairley and Eula Mills, His son Billy Joe Mills Jr., grandson Travis Edwards and former wife Annie Sue (Faulkner) Mills.

Joe worked much of his life in Timber and Cattle Farming, which were his true passions. His inspiring work ethic and knowledge of farming were some of his greatest attributes. He was also a dedicated member of Gilboa United Methodist Church for much of his life.

Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Left behind to carry on his legacy are his loving wife Louise, daughter Donna Sue Mills, of Lake Tillery, Sons Eric Brown, of Lancaster, SC and Douglas (wife Julie) Brown, of Tennessee. Daughter-in-Law LouAnn Mills Almond and two grandsons Jody Mills (Courtney), of Durham and Cody Mills (Jamie), of Marshville. His great-grandchildren, Keenan, Kelby, Walker, Luke and Hendrie will forever love and remember their Papaw Mills.
