Mr. Billy Ray Evert,73, of Marshville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 12, 2025. He was born on August 14, 1951 and was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Linda Martin Evert, his daughter, Crystal Hudmon (Randy), his son, Chris Evert (Melissa) and his four cherished grandsons, Cody Hudmon (Jessica), Dustin Hudmon (Meg), Austin Hudmon (Jaime), and Dawson Evert. He was blessed with five great grandchildren, Clayton, Coy, Ava, Oaklynn and Haisley.

Mr. Evert proudly served two years in the United States Army as a Military Police (MP). His dedication to his country was matched only by his love for horses, which he often rode with great joy. He was an avid fan of John Wayne and spent countless hours watching old Westerns, reliving the golden era of cowboy cinema. His passion for drag racing brought excitement and thrills into his life, making him a well-rounded and adventurous individual.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 4:00pm at Holland Funeral Service located at 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112.
