Ardell Siverhus was born in Lac qui Parle, Minnesota on May 2, 1936 and was the eldest child of Arlan and Verna Siverhus. On May 22, 2022 he passed away at the age of 86 in Waxhaw, North Carolina.
He is survived by his loving wife Susan, his sister Dianne (Wallace) Enga of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, his sister-in-law, Diane Siverhus, his brother-in-law, Orlan Sandro, his brother-in- law Ronald Cech as well as two children from his first marriage, Todd Siverhus of Bayville, New Jersey and Jill (John) Pruden and grandson Andrew Pruden of Brick, New Jersey. In addition to his children, he is survived by his step-son, Richard Weber of Interlaken, NJ and 2 step- daughters, Cathryn (Jeff) Gonyo of Maplewood, NJ, and Joyce (Craig) Mesick of Waxhaw, North Carolina. He has 5 step-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ardell was a US Airforce Veteran. He graduated from South Dakota State University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and received his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Fairleigh
Dickinson University. He retired as Chief of the Airborne branch in the Electronic, Warfare Division of Fort Monmouth, NJ. During his time in Fort Monmouth, he was the co-inventor of
US Patent Number 4 015 259 Method and Apparatus for Interrogating and Identifying Fixed or Moving Targets. He also traveled extensively for work and often was in South Korea. He
enjoyed a second career of 13-years in the Operation Division of Enterprise Rental Car. Ardell was a lifelong fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, NJ playing Poker and Blackjack. He was an amazing carpenter and vegetable gardener. Every now and then, he liked a game of Lawn Darts and Dominos.
He is predeceased by his parents, and step-father Darold Vierhuf, sister Loretta Cech of Waukesha, Wisconsin. His sister Lynette Sandro of Hendricks, Minnesota. His brother's Leon
Siverhus of Stillwater, Minnesota and Douglas Siverhus of Atlanta, Georgia.
A private memorial service was held on May 26, 2022 at Holland Funeral Home in Monroe, NC.
