Antonio Fernandez, 91, passed away Friday, December 17, 2021. He was born in Cuba on September 8, 1930, to the late Eustoquio Fernandez Prieto and Dominga Militina Rodriguez Marquez. Antonio is also preceded in passing by his paternal grandparents, Ciprian Fernandez and Tomasa Prieto both of Cuba; maternal grandparents, Manuel Rodriguez Perez of the Canary Islands, and Juana Maria Marquez Gonzalez of Cuba; former wife, Bertha Baserio Hernandez; children, Leonardo Fernandez Baserio, and Nilda Fernandez Baserio; brothers and sisters, Juana, Evelio, Manuel, Maria, Julian, Esperanza, and Mercedes. Services will be held from the graveside at 12:00pm on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Lexington Memorial Cemetery, 1772-1782 W Main St, Lexington, SC 29072. All are invited to attend. Antonio is survived by his son, Antonio Fernandez Baserio and his wife, Hilaida Fernandez; grandchildren, Maite Moya Fernandez, and Tony Fernandez Alvarez; great-grandchildren, Alvaro Antonio Gonzalez Moya, and Aytana Fernandez Esperon; sister, Rosa Fernandez Rodriguez; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
