Anthony Jerome Blakely, 55, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 5, 2021. He was born June 8, 1966 in Monroe, NC, to the late Bennie Blakely Sr. and Florence Kirpatrick Blakely. Anthony is also preceded in passing by his sister, Mary Laster Blakely. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC. A Public Viewing will be held from 11:00am until 7:00pm on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Holland Funeral Service. Mr. Blakely will be Lying in State from 11:00am until 12:45pm prior to the service. He will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery in Monroe, NC following the conclusion of the service. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the family requests that no one visit nor bring food to their home. They will accept all visitors for the above listed services. Thank you for your understanding during this time. Anthony is survived by his brother, Bennie Blakely III of Monroe, NC; sisters, Ada Delores Blakely of the home, Patricia Ann Blakely of Monroe, NC, and Melissa Black of Wingate, NC. nephews, Damien Ligon,and Norris Black Jr.; nieces, Crystal Mungo, Shanetta Ligon, and Mercedes Blakely; two aunts of Charlotte, NC, Juanita McCorkle and Frankie Murray; many great-nieces and nephews and other special cousins and relatives. Anthony graduated from Monroe High School in 1984. In his adult career he worked for Jones Construction Company for several years. He was a man that loved his family and was always appreciate of the support the family provided to him.
