IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mr. Abe Martin
Brewton Jr.
July 29, 1958 – February 14, 2023
Abe Martin Brewton had his time to be born July 29, 1958, in Reidsville, Tattnall County, Georgia, the Mr. Abe and Mrs. Elvira Sanders Brewton.
Abe is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jake Betterson; and two sisters, Gwen Smith and Mildred Haley.
Abe's time to learn came first from his parents' home before he entered the school system of Tattnall County. During the time he was taught in academics he was also good at sports. Fishing was what he loved to do as a child. As once it was a way his father helped provide food for the family, Abe's love for fishing provided him with peace and tranquility throughout his life. In 1975, Abe played basketball and competed in track and field, winning state level one year. He also loved and played the sports of football and baseball the year of 1976 and on throughout his high school years. Abe graduated from Reidsville High School in 1976.
Abe had time to labor and build up in his life. When he was still in his parents' home, he learned a great work ethic. He worked faithfully on Mr. Jimmy Kennedy's Farm. Abe often spoke of those days as his good old days. The work was hard, but Mr. Kennedy's family was just an extension of his family, as he had meals sitting around the table with his wife and daughter. After graduating from high school, he was employed by Kennedy Cablevision of Reidsville, GA. Through the job he often commuted to Monroe, NC where he met and fell in love with Beverly Frazier. Abe remained in Monroe, NC and obtained employment at Conmet, where he worked 25 plus years until his retirement.
Abe and Beverly were married on July 26, 1986, and to this union 3 children were born. He continued to plant and sew, relying on what his mother had taught him as a child, keeping faith in God to carry him through. Throughout his years, he continued to seek God and pray. He found joy in studying God's Word with his prayer partners, Edward & Carolyn Davis, Jenny Deberry, and Mary Byrum. He continued receiving God's Word on the conference line of Springfield M.B.C. of Reidsville, GA under the guidance of Rev. Dr. Will White.
Abe's time to transition and let go of the cares of this world came on February 14, 2023, at CMC Atrium Union.
Abe leaves to cherish his precious memories his three daughters, Chavis Brewton and her fiancé, Turey Hailstock, Rasheda Brewton, and Shaunvaria Robinson; one son, Martin Brewton, all of Monroe, NC; ten grandchildren he adored and went all out for: Andrevion and Jalil Brewton; Queen A.S, Grace T, and Journee E. Hailstock; Ashaad Staton, Stewart D., and Skylyn Chambers; and Montez C. and Ma'Jyus C. Rorie, all of Monroe, NC; as well as two sisters, Viola Brewton of Jacksonville, FL, and Marvine (Ken) Ward of Augusta, GA; one brother, Elder Steven (Mordena) Richardson of Reidsville, GA; one aunt, Vivian Sanders of Eulonia, GA; ten nephews and eight nieces; and a host of great-nephews and great-nieces, cousins, and friends.
