Miki
Patterson
Apr 7, 1987 — Aug 16, 2026
On August 16, 2026, at 1:16 p.m., our hearts stopped as we said goodbye to our beloved Miki, leaving behind a pain and emptiness that words can hardly describe.
Charmiqua “Miki” Patterson, age 39, was taken from us far too soon. She was born on April 7, 1987, in Richmond County, and from the very beginning, she had a way of making the world around her a little brighter.
If you knew Miki, then you knew there was no arguing with her—at least, not if you valued your life! Her personality was truly one of a kind. She had a boldness, a humor, and a way of saying exactly what was on her mind that made her unforgettable. She could make you laugh until you cried, and somehow, depending on the day, she could also make you cry until you laughed. That was simply Miki.
Miki’s life was not always easy, and she faced more than her share of battles. But she had a remarkable ability to find the good even when no one else could see it. She loved fiercely, lived loudly, and never let life take away the light inside her.
One of the things Miki loved most was music. She loved singing with anyone who was willing to sing along with her. Her voice was something special, and she loved sharing it with others. One of her greatest joys was singing for the people she loved, especially her mama, and seeing the happiness on their faces as they listened.
Miki never met a stranger. Whether she was at work, out with friends, at a bar, or simply somewhere enjoying life, she had a way of making people feel like they had known her forever. If you walked away from Miki after meeting her, you didn't just walk away with a new acquaintance—you walked away with a memory.
Her sense of humor was unlike anyone else's. She could have a whole room laughing in minutes, and she had a gift for turning even the hardest days into moments that could be remembered with a smile. She was genuine, outspoken, loving, and unapologetically herself. There will never be another Miki.
Miki was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jerry Thomas Sr. "Pop,” Erma Patterson, and her brother, Jonah Dantae Ingram.
She leaves behind her mother, Ernestine Brown; her stepfather, William Brown; her beloved "Daddy" and "Momma's", Jerry and Michelle Thomas; grandparents "Honkeypaw"and "Honkeymaw" Gene and Carlene Charlton, Charlie Patterson, sisters, Hope Touchton (Steven), Tanica Watson, Tasheika Patterson, Jalisha Patterson, Shananza Patterson, Nisha Cue, Ericka Jefferson, Sade Leaks, Takia Cue, Keona Ingram, and brother, Dorian Berry.
She is also survived by her brothers, Edward Cue (Candice), Frankie Thomas, James Cue Jr. (Porsha), Dez Cue, and many nieces and nephews. Some were related by blood, some were not, but Miki loved them all just the same.
Miki leaves behind more than a family. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, music, stories, and moments that will forever be carried in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She may have left this world far too soon, but the mark she left on it will never disappear. Her voice may be quiet now, but the memories of her laughter will always be loud. Her chair may be empty, but her presence will forever be felt. And though our hearts are broken by her absence, we will continue to tell her stories, laugh at the things only Miki could get away with, sing the songs she loved, and love the people she loved. Miki, you were truly one of a kind. You were loved beyond measure, and you will be missed beyond words. Until we meet again, keep singing, keep laughing, and keep watching over all of us. Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever our Miki.
