Michael William Rohr, age 73, passed away on May 22, 2026, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Born on April 6, 1953, Mike lived a life centered on faith, family, friendship, and fun.

Mike attended West Aurora High School before continuing on to his beloved Illinois Wesleyan University. There, he formed many lifelong friendships while proudly playing football for the Titans and spending time with his Sigma Chi fraternity brothers, whom he remained close with throughout his life. He went on to build a long successful career at Van Kampen (now Invesco), where he also developed many meaningful relationships.

Mike was the devoted husband of Janet Rohr, with whom he shared 46 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a loving family and created countless happy memories. They raised their family in Naperville, Illinois, where they were fortunate to be surrounded by wonderful neighbors. In recent years, Mike spent his winters in Bonita Springs, Florida, enjoying golf and quality time with those he loved.

He was a proud and loving father to Emily Hannigan and her husband Nick, Chris Rohr and his wife Annie, and Brian Rohr and his wife Amanda. Mike was especially proud to be “Gramps” to his cherished grandchildren: Brady, Charlotte, Christopher, Brooks, Lainey, Jack, Grace, and Graham.

He is also survived by his siblings: Brian Rohr (Gail), Bonnie Carlson (Larry), Jim Rohr (Suzanne), and Brudd Rohr (Paula), along with a large extended family. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary Jean Rohr.

Those who knew Mike will remember him for his deep love of family, strong work ethic, unwavering faith, and remarkable ability to make every gathering more fun. His faith in God was a source of strength throughout his life, and though he will be deeply missed, his family takes great comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.

A celebration of Mike’s life and “Mumblers” in his honor will be planned for a later date.
