Mary Hopping Sistare went peacefully to be with her Heavenly Father on February 15, 2019. There to greet her in Heaven was her loving husband, Larry Sistare; her parents, John & Mary Hopping; and her brother, Greg Hopping. Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her son, David Turner, Sr. and wife, Susan, of Matthews, NC; grandchildren, David Turner, Jr. and wife, Keliegh of Wilmington, NC; Lilly Turner, Jace Turner and Alexis Visconte of Matthews, NC; and Ashley Visconte of W. Palm Beach, FL; great-granddaughters, Ember Turner & Angelina Doherty of Wilmington; and a host of other family and friends who loved her. Born November 9, 1940 in Houston, TX, Mary moved to Charlotte with her family and graduated from Myers Park HS. She was a loving mother, grandmother and wife that will surely be missed. In addition to raising her son, David, she enjoyed working for CPCC, Folger's Automotive and at Lowe's in Monroe. She also was a devoted member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mary's family would like to give special thanks to all of the wonderful care givers at Monroe Square Memory Care and Hospice and Palliative Care, Charlotte Region. Holland Funeral Service is assisting the family. A memorial service to celebrate Mary's life will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 6907 Gus Eubanks Rd, Monroe, NC 28112, on Saturday, February 23rd at 2:00.
