Martha Tarlton Melton, 80, passed away June 9, 2026. She was born in Monroe, North Carolina on July 24, 1945 to the late Ray Wilson Tarlton Sr. and Sarah Gray Tarlton.

Services will be held in the Mausoleum at 11:00am on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112.

In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in passing by her granddaughter, Scotti Gandy; and siblings, Peggy Johnson and Ray Tarlton Jr.

Martha is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Larry “Ted” Melton, children, Mike Melton, Paula Gandy (Phillip), and Richard Melton; grandchildren, Corey Melton (Becca), Chase Melton, Logan Melton, Alexis Carpenter (Cameron), Taylor Poss (Trevor), Joshua Gandy, Kendra Moyer (Matthew), and Sydney Meyer (Reames); 8 great-grandchildren, and sister, Judy Price (Dean).

Martha will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.
