****Margaret Lou (Helms) Autry 76, of Monroe, NC went Home to be with Her LORD and Savior on Wednesday, October 16th 2019 surrounded by her loving family.�A second memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, November 24, 2019 at her church Trinity Methodist� Church, 114 Trinity Church Road, Monroe, NC 28112. Committal service will follow at the Altan Church Cemetery.****� Margaret was born June 25, 1943, in Monroe, NC to the late Maude Huneycutt Helms and JD Helms Sr. She was also preceded in death by her Brothers, JD Helms Jr, Reece Helms (age 3 months) and great nephew Benjamin Hyles Helms (age 4 months). Survivors include her Sister, Ruth (Helms) Helms and husband Robert O. Helms Jr, sister in law Wanda Helms High, nephews Roger & Colleen Helms, Ronald & Anne Helms, Robert O Helms III wife Brenda and niece, Deborah & Bob Johnson. Margaret graduated from Prospect High School in 1961. She worked 44 years at Monroe Hardware and retired as office manager. She was an active member of Trinity Methodist Church in the Altan community, where she enjoyed playing the piano for many years. Margaret loved her family and wonderful group of lifelong High School friends. Margaret was a huge Tarheel fan, and Loved spending time with her friends and family. She loved her niece and nephews like they were her own children. Her celebration of Life service will be on Sunday, October 27th 2019 at Bright Spot Baptist Church located at 1407 Lockhart St. in Monroe, NC across the street from the Hospital. The Celebration service will be officiated by Pastor Bobby Helms, her nephew. Family visitation at the church will be at 2:30pm with the service to follow at 3:30pm. Burial will be at a later date at Trinity Methodist Church and Altan Cemetery officiated by Her Pastor JoHanna Miller.
