Mable Courtney Price, 78, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Mable was born in Union County to the late George James and Nettie Ardenia Aycock Courtney. Mable was a beloved mother and grandmother who adored her family. She never met a stranger and offered a helping hand to all in need. Those who knew Mable knew of her creative talent in the floral business, her love of gardening, and genealogy. Mable was the former owner of Mable's Florist, Marshville Florist, and Downtown Discount. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday, June 17, 2015 in the Central United Methodist Church Sanctuary, 801 S. Hayne Street, Monroe, NC, 28112. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 PM until 3:45 PM in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. Mable is survived by her son Harold Dowd Price Jr.(Beth) of Monroe; daughters Cindy Medlin (Billy) of Cary, Marsha Belk (Richard) of Monroe, Kim Price of Huntersville, and Tracy Mork (Bruce) of Fredericksburg Va.; grandchildren, Tyler Price (Cassie), Wendy Medlin, Lindsey Medlin, Marcie Belk, Ashlyn Kloepping (Jason), Tristan O'Shaughnessy, Alexis O'Shaughnessy, Brandon Mork, Natalie Mork, and Caroline Mork; great grandchild, Gage Kloepping;� stepson Randy Cox (Kate); step grandchildren Beth Sharpe (Kevin), Andy Cox(Leslie), Brian Cox; and 8 step great grandchildren; �sister, Ina Teal;� Brenda Courtney Harvell; and sister in law�Ruth Courtney.� In addition to her parents Mable was preceded in death by her husband Harold Dowd Price Sr.; brothers, Joe Courtney, Charlie Courtney, and George "Geeky" Courtney Jr.; sisters, Louise White, Juanita Strawn, Ruth Thomas, Christine Strawn, and Betty Yarborough. The family extends their appreciation to Hospice of Union County, and caregivers Katie Black and Brenda Wallace.
