Linda Jane Beeson Masten, 81, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on January 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on May 14, 1944, at Forsyth Hospital in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Linda was raised in the Kernersville and Winston-Salem area, where she built a life rooted in faith, strength, and deep devotion to those she loved.
Linda was an accomplished businesswoman and the proud owner of Central Carolina Shipping. She was among the first women to pass the Customs Broker exam on her first attempt, an achievement she held close to her heart and one that reflected her intelligence, perseverance, and determination. She was passionate about her work and took great pride in what she built.
More than anything, Linda’s greatest joy came from her family. She shared an extraordinarily close and special bond with her two daughters, Kelly Jo Payne Russell and Kimberly Shawn Masten Allen (husband Richard). Their relationship was marked by deep love, unwavering support, and constant connection. Linda was not only their mother, but their confidante, encourager, and steady presence throughout life. The love between them was evident to everyone who knew them.
Linda was also a devoted and loving grandmother who cherished her grandchildren: Amber R. Harvey (husband Lee), Michael C. Russell II (partner Jessica), Joshua T. Mullins (wife Teona), and Greyson R. Allen. She took great pride in each of them and treasured every moment spent together. She also shared a close and meaningful relationship with her niece, Ashley Cromer, who held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice “Billie” Baker Beeson; her father, Broadway Smith Beeson; her brother, Phillip Smith Beeson (wife Ann); her sisters, Robyn E. Cromer and Judy K. Robertson (husband Keith); and her beloved grandson, James Allen Russell.
Linda found joy in music, peaceful days at the ocean, and especially in time spent with her family. Her warmth, strength, faith, and enduring love will continue to live on through those who were blessed to know her.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Holland Funeral Home, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, North Carolina 28112.
