Obituary

Linda Couick Heggie, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away on June 14, 2026. Born on December 27, 1952, in Statesville, North Carolina, Linda lived a life marked by warmth, dedication, and an enduring love for her family and friends. Linda was also a woman of strong faith who loved her Lord and Savior.

Linda was a proud graduate of Indian Land High School. She devoted much of her professional career to working as dispatcher at a trucking company and co-owner of Livingston transport where she was deeply respected and adored by her coworkers. Her kindness and generosity extended beyond the workplace, where her culinary talents were greatly admired. Many fondly remember her exceptional sour cream coconut cake, which was a favorite among all who had the pleasure to taste it.

Her passions included bird watching, tending to her garden, and spending cherished moments at the beach. These hobbies reflected her deep appreciation for nature and the simple joys of life.

Above all else, Linda loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her entire family immensely. She is survived by her loving daughters, Grace Stone and Shannon Willis; her devoted mother, Hazel Couick; her siblings, brother Howard Alan Couick and his wife Deborah, sisters Anita Couick Shaw and Lisa Michelle Caldwell along with her husband Wayne. Linda’s legacy continues through her treasured grandchildren—Stephen Stone and his wife Chasity, Roland Stone, and Shelby Winship—and her adored great-grandchildren, Christopher Stone, Elizabeth Stone, Ryder Stone, and Haze Bowman. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Tonya Stone.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Howard Gideon Couick; her son, Christopher Ryan Stone; and her grandson, Ryan Michael Stone. The memories of these dear family members remain forever in the hearts of all who knew Linda.

A visitation will be held on June 20, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Holland Funeral Service in Monroe, North Carolina. This will be followed by a memorial service from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM, offering family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Linda to gather and honor her memory.
