Mr. Larry James Medlin, 82, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, November 5, 2026 peacefully with his family. He was born August 5, 1944 to the late George and Daisy Medlin. Larry was also preceded in passing by his loving wife of 57 years, Wanda Medlin, his grandchildren, Rusty James Medlin and Skylar Alexis Medlin, his siblings, Kemp Medlin, Heath Medlin, Bob Medlin, GW Medlin, Dean Helms, Faye Helms, Ruth Medlin, Joyce Hannah, Carol Haigler, Ruby Wyles, and Rosa Deese. Larry was a family man who believed in providing for those he loved. He will be remembered for his loyalty, honestly, and integrity. Being strong willed and independent was his strong suit. He will be cherished in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him and missed dearly.

A Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM on Wednesday, November 11th at  Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, North Carolina, 28112. The service and burial will be held privately.

Those left to cherish Larry’s memory are his children, Wendy Usher (Jerry), Rusty Medlin (Nicky), Jason Medlin (Tracy), and Robbie Medlin (Mattie); grandchildren, Annie Usher, John Usher, Jessie Hill (Brandon), Katie Davis (Isaac), Justin Hicks, Savannah Homola (Jacob), Mia Medlin, and Ryleigh Medlin, 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Union County.
