Larry King (loving known as Red) was born March 25, 1957 to the late Elizabeth King, in Manhattan, New York. Larry gained the nickname "Red" from his mom due to his fair skin and light sandy hair.
Larry was educated in the New York City Public School System and graduated from Bay Ridge High School. Shortly afterwards, he started working at the post office; one of the many jobs he held before landing at Brown Printing Company in Pennsylvania.
Larry liked playing cards. He loved talking to young people and giving them advice from his experiences. He also liked hanging out with the guys. Larry loved telling his nieces and nephews that they owed him money and the kids would say, "How much Uncle Red?" and he would reply, "$2.00".
From a previous relationship, he had three children, Lynette, Mylana, and Larry Jr. (deceased). In October 2000, he married Deloris Perry and from that union he helped to raise, Tanya, Matthew, Elethia, Karsheem, and Shaliek. In 2005 the family relocated to Pennsylvania and was there for 5 years, before moving to North Carolina where he lived and worked until his illness would not permit.
