Khalil Tyree McKoy was born on March 10, 2004 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, to Lakeia Maria Townes and Kenneth Raymont McKoy.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Blakely Funeral Chapel, 714 E Franklin Street Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 12:00pm prior to the service. Rev. Cornelius Atkinson, The Heights Ministries, of Charlotte, NC will officiate the services.
He was raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Clarksville, Tennessee. Khalil attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Public Schools and was a student at Sun Valley High School. Khalil was a very bright and creative young man. Khalil came into our lives with a bright smile, he was charismatic, loving, and creative. The great sense of style he got from his mom was emulated by many and will forever be etched in our memory. His love of music, as well as, memories of him dancing are unforgettable. He brought joy and laughter to everyone he encountered. No words can express this tremendous loss; however, we will commemorate his life with happy remembrance and celebration of the vibrant spirit he was. He loved tailgating with his grandfather, Kenneth Ware, and began to love the Carolina Panthers. Khalil will be cherished in the hearts of all of those who knew and loved him.
