Kenneth Antonio Derry, also known as Tony, was born October 21,1964 in Portsmouth VA, a son to Columbus Moore Jr and Lucille Barrett Turner.

Tony graduated from Monroe High School in 1985, and would go on to serve in the US Navy. After he finished his service, he moved back to Monroe NC, to continue to grow his family and add more jobs and skills to his list.

Tony started as a brick mason, employed by McGee Brothers. Tony graduated from the Art Institute of Wilmington NC as a chef, a passion he had since he was a young man. He then would go on to pass his CDL drivers test to become a truck driver up until his eternal rest.

Tony loved the lord for he was and is a child of the Most High God. He was a strong and powerful man and his love unmatched; and he would go to any extent to protect the ones he loved. He was a gentle soul.

Tony was preceded in death by his father; Columbus Moore Jr, Maternal grandparents; Elizabeth and Benjamin T. Derry, Florence Barrett. paternal grand parents; Vera Moore and Coumbus Moore Sr. and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He leaves to cherish fond memories; his mother; Lucille Barrett Turner. Five children; Kenneth Wright, Kiesha Derry, Kenya Derry, Johnny Kirby, and Brittney Cook, two brothers, Bobby Hicks and Clifton Powell, one sister Vernita Gatling-Thurman, 11 grandchildren; Naturi Wright, K'Ron Wright, Judah Kirby, Queen Cook, Dream Phillips, Arizona Derry, Dominic Derry, Jaylens Derry, and Micah Derry, one great granddaughter; Mae'Liyah Derry and his spiritual parents, William J. Masey and Mary H. Massey.

Celebration of life service will take place on Saturday, November 11,2023 at 11:00am at Word of God Mission Church located at 717 E. Park Drive Monroe NC 28112.
