John Leach, fondly known as “Tubby, Bumpa, Grandfather, Papa-John, & Johnny”, age 72, passed away surrounded by family at his daughter’s home in North Carolina on June 3, 2026. He was born June 25, 1953 and was a lifelong resident of Pulaski, New York.
John was raised by Arthur and Hattie McNitt and as a teenager lived with Rex and Phyllis McNitt to work on the family farm. He was a member of the IBEW Local union with Entergy where he retired with a combined total of 35 years serving New York State. After retirement, he went back to farming and enjoyed raising cattle that he cherished.
He was an avid sports fan and loved watching Syracuse basketball and the Dallas Cowboys. John was even fortunate enough to attend the 1993 Super Bowl in California when the Cowboys defeated the Buffalo Bills. John proudly displayed his Super Bowl memorabilia in his living room. When John was not working or enjoying sports, he could often be found hunting, fishing, and farming.
John will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.
