Mr. John Laney, 62, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020. Mr. Laney was born in Germany on February 15, 1957 to the late Wade Laney and Hedy Hammer Laney. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, and the United States Army Reserve. A service to celebrate Mr. Laney's life with Military honors will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Mary Elizabeth Baptist Church, 3703 Mary Elizabeth Church Road, Waxhaw, NC 28173. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Church sanctuary. John leaves behind his daughters, Joy Jones (Jason), Tracy McManus (Josey); son, Jon David Laney (Maria); brothers, Harry Laney, Larry Laney, and Tim Laney; grandchildren, Hana Jones, Uriah Jones, Palyn McManus, Wyatt Laney, Lowie Laney, and Westin McManus. In addition to his parents Mr. Laney was preceded in death by his three brothers, Tommy Laney, Kenneth Laney, David Laney; and sister, Mary Ann Laney. Holland Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the Laney family.
