John Thomas Fox, 58, passed away unexpectedly on July 10, 2020. John was born May 18, 1962 to Nancy Bland fox and the late George Francis Fox in Charlotte, North Carolina. A memorial service will be held at a later date. John is preceded in death by his grandparents, George & Sarah Fox of Wilmington, NC, Earl & Thelma Bland of Spindale, NC, and his beloved dog, Shane. He is survived by his daughter, Ashlee Hedgepeth; mother, Nancy Bland Fox; brothers, George & Greg Fox; sister Julie Fox Jones (Joey); aunts, Earleen Douglas, Ruby Melton, Carol Fox, Susan Fox Brown (Johnny), Mary Currier, Winnie Fox; uncles, Ray & Kenneth Bland (Kathy). John had a special love for his nephews and nieces; Christopher Jones, Charlie Baker, Judith & Lucinda Jones, and Amy & Brittany Fox. John loved playing basketball and played all sports for CYAC growing up. He attended Cochran Junior High School and Garringer High School. He loved the Carolina Tar Heels and the New England Patriots. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Durham Memorial Baptist Church, 1601 Toddville Rd., Charlotte, NC 28214.
