Jim D. Fox, 80, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on May 24, 2026. Born on June 4, 1945, he served in the US Navy as a Radioman aboard the USS Shasta and USS Kiowa. He was an Ohio University graduate as well as a graduate of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. Jim built a respected career as an Attorney at Law in Belpre, Ohio, where he was known for his integrity and commitment to helping others.
Jim is survived by his wife of 26 years, Susan Fox; his son, Jason Fox and his wife, Nicole; his grandchildren, Emma and Winston Fox; his stepson, Thad Mankin and his wife, Jamie; his sister-inlaw, Mollie Fox; and his cousin, Karen Cochran. He also leaves behind Nellie, his devoted canine companion who rarely left his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Emma Mae Fox; his wife, Emma Lee Fox; his son, Joshua Fox; and his brother, Russ Fox.
Jim enjoyed golfing with his friends, taking many trips with Susan on their Harley- Davidsons, and all the adventures they shared together. They created many treasured memories through their shared love of flying and the friendships they built along the way. Together, they also fostered and rehabilitated countless dogs over the years, finding them loving homes and occasionally welcoming a few permanently into their own family. Jim and Susan built a beautiful life together over 26 years, filled with adventure, friendship, and unwavering companionship. Education, honesty, and kindness were important to him as he always left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
