Obituary

Jillian Ryan Mangum, age 35, of Marshville, North Carolina passed away on April 29th, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Tyson Mangum, mother to Bentlee Edward and Magnolia Rose Mangum, daughter to Denise LaPiana, sister to Alexa (Landen) Coyne, aunt to Calyn Coyne and Kayden Hill, and daughter-in-law to Cindy and Carl Needham. She was preceded in death by her sister Oliva Kowalski. Jill was loved beyond measure by her extended family and a multitude of friends.

In the short time she was with us, Jill saw so many of her dreams come true. Alongside rolling pastures, up a driveway lined with pecan trees, she and Tyson made a home that welcomed all. Her special blend of beauty and authenticity is in everything she touched. Her family was her pride and joy. She poured herself into her children, building a loving, open home where they could be themselves. She encouraged them to create joy, to be true friends, and to always be grateful. She shared this philosophy with her family, friends, neighbors, and every small business within 100 miles of Marshville..

She was a God-fearing, radiant woman who, even in the midst of life's battles, held tightly to her faith - reaching for Jesus's hand and keeping her eyes fixed on Him above all else. What so many of us struggle to do, Jill did instinctively and without reservation. She loved others. She reflected His love genuinely, treating everyone around her with a Christlike kindness that touched all who knew her.

She was happiest spending time with her family, watching Tyson and his crew on jobsite, seeing Bentlee share her love for working dogs, capturing the joy on Maggie’s face as she rode a horse for the first time - Jill’s photography showed us the beauty of it all through her eyes. She asked us to be open and authentic, to tell the joke, order the dessert, make mistakes and deserve forgiveness. She taught us to give as much of yourself to the world as you can because it needs you as much as you need it. Beautiful woman, wife, mother, daughter, friend - you are missed beyond measure.

Jillian’s funeral will be held at the Euto Baptist Church (6019 NC-205, Marshville, NC 28103) on Sunday, May 3rd at 3pm, with visitation starting at 1:30pm.
