Jeffrey Lee “Jeff” Griffin, age 64, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026.

Jeff was born on March 25, 1962, to Nancy Marie and William Arden “Bill” Griffin in Erie, Pennsylvania. Shortly after, the family moved to Kent, Ohio, where Jeff was raised.

Jeff graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1980 and attended the University of Akron. After college, he moved to Miami, Florida, and then to Charlotte, North Carolina, eventually settling in Monroe, North Carolina. Throughout his career, he worked as a carpenter, construction superintendent, and project manager, specializing in the construction of restaurants.

Jeff’s lifelong career in construction provided an outlet for his artistic eye and natural creativity. He valued craftsmanship and took pride in doing projects well, always focusing on quality and durability. Whether at work or at home, Jeff was truly an artisan.

Jeff had an appreciation for the simple things in life. He was well-versed in music, art, and history. He especially enjoyed collecting antiques—most notably, radios and clocks. He often said that listening to old radios made him nostalgic for a time when families would gather together to listen to the news, music, and other programs. He enjoyed keeping up with current events and often gave thoughtful consideration to the impact of technology on humanity, particularly his concern about how much time people spent on their cell phones.

Jeff loved an escape to Ocean Isle Beach, fishing along the shore, and cheering on his Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers. Above all, he treasured the people he loved and the time spent making memories with them.

Jeff was a quiet observer who understood what mattered most in life: deep love, thoughtfulness, and genuine connections with family and friends. His dry wit and subtle sense of humor brought laughter to those around him. Though a man of few words, he understood those he loved and would share his thoughts, love, and support when it mattered most.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Nancy, and his brother, David William Griffin.

Jeff is survived by his beloved wife, Ana Vuksanaj-Griffin; his four children, Jessica (Bill) Taylor, William “Jake” (Allison) Griffin, Leah Phillips, and Zoe Griffin (Dakota Garner); and his four grandchildren, Ellie, Henry, Eliza, and Arden.

Jeff is also survived by his siblings, Julie (Robert) Hoelle, Pamela (Phillip) Hurley, and Jason (Jennifer) Griffin; and his nieces and nephews, Tyler, Jill, Heather, Megan, Dana, Griffin, Eva, Adrienne, Hank, and Eddie, as well as twelve great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for family and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeff’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
