Janet Marie Rollins Horne, 78, of Peachland, North Carolina passed away July 17, 2026. Janet was born in Anson County, North Carolina on November 29, 1947, to the late Lester and Clara Hasty Rollins.

Janet’s primary role was wife, homemaker, and mother. She delighted in making decorated cakes for her sons’ elementary classes. For a time, Janet owned and managed a dress shop (Expressions) in Marshville. Her most recent employment was in sales at James Michael & Co.

Janet’s passion, aside from her family, was the Lord and her church. She was a charter member of The Praisers. Janet sang soprano with the musical group and lifted the Lord in worship. Even in her end-of-life journey, we are grateful that Janet always remembered her love for her savior and her church. She loved her family and friends. She was known by her community at Brookdale as one that would be out front in the family room to greet everyone with a warm smile and plenty of conversation. She loved the activities with Brookdale friends and staff.

A service to celebrate Janet’s life will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Peachland Gospel Tabernacle Church, 66 W. Passaic St. Peachland, NC 28133. Rev. Lynn Garris and Rev. Patricia Shankle will be officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM.

A private burial will follow at Pine View Cemetery in Peachland.

Janet is survived by her sons, Jamie Horne (Tonda) of Unionville, and Dennis Horne (Alice) of Peachland; and granddaughters, Grace and Lauren Horne. There are also numerous aunts, uncles, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family that she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Larry Horne; her parents, Lester and Clara Hasty Rollins; and her brothers, Donald (Sherry) and Ernest Rawlings (Gretel).

The family wishes to thank Dr. Michelle Foster and the entire staff of Brookdale Assisted Living Monroe Square for their thorough and compassionate care for Mom. We also acknowledge professional and personal appreciation to Jonathan Holland and Garrett Holland.
