Jane Ann Alston Ceurvorst was born February 7th, 1942 to the late John and Ruth Alston. She passed away peacefully on September 17th, 2019, succumbing to melanoma at home hospice under the loving and attentive care of her daughter.
Jane was born and raised in Davenport, Iowa where she married and raised her children. She graduated with honors from St. Ambrose College, Davenport, IA in 1985 and relocated to Pineville, NC. She moved to her beautiful country home in Monroe, NC in 1996 where she cherished her wooded setting.
Jane was an accountant by trade but travel was her passion. Stepping foot on every continent, she experienced many different cultures and delighted in the nature and the beauty of this world. Among her favorite encounters were touching gray whales in Baja, and coming face to face with a polar bear in Manitoba. She was able to travel to many of these places with her children and grandchildren, creating wonderful shared memories.
Jane loved, and was loved by, her five children and her 12 grandchildren.
