James "Randy" Cook, 75, passed away Monday, December 7, 2020. He was born July 11, 1945 to the late Ira James Cook and Kathryn Rebich Cook.
The family will host a memorial service at a later date.
Randy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ella Maureen Cook; son, Jay Cook (Nicole); daughter, Kathryn Montague (Monty); sisters, Kathryn DeAngelo, Alice Phillips (Ben), and Mary Stinson (Larry); grandchildren, Caroline and Lauren; and many extended Williams and Cook family members.
Randy was a man of honor. He was a disabled veteran who earned the Purple Heart during his time serving in Vietnam. In addition to his courageous military career, he was a guide at the Marshville Museum. Randy was a member at Fairfield Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, treasurer, Sunday school teacher, and R.A. leader until he and his wife became members at Love Baptist Church. He was also a member of the R.O.M.E.O. Group where he enjoyed meeting his friends for breakfast. There were many things that Randy loved but above all, he held his family close to his heart. He loved his children and grandchildren and his special son, Albert. Big Teddy, a refuge dog, was his constant companion and friend. He looked forward every morning to Teddy's barking at the front door awaiting his food. Ranny's old Lexus was used for only Teddy rides. In closing, there was only "one" Randy/Ranny Cook.
