James Harrison Black Jr. age 60 of Matthew’s, NC passed away on August 15, 2026. Born on October, 11, 1965 in Carthage, NC . He was the beloved son of James Harrison Black Sr. and Ann Chrisco Black of East Bend, NC.

James spent many years working as a Bank Branch Manager and retired as a Federal Officer at Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point. He will be remembered for his love of of hunting and fishing. James loved photography, he was very talented, had an eye for detail, loved nature and being outdoors. Reading was also an escape for him. You could always find him with a book in his possession.

James received his education from Central Texas College and University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Business Finance. James was a former U.S. Marine with six years active duty and eight years of reserve duty taking him to 29 countries.

He is survived by his parents, his wife Lynn Black of Indian Land, SC, his son James Harrison Black III,(Lexsie) Grandson (Hudson) of Delco, NC, his sister Pamela Black Clewis (Ben) of York, SC.

A celebration of Life Service will be announced at a future date.
