Dateline: Monroe, NC Hugh Mac Watkins, 84, passed away May 17, 2019. Mr. Watkins was born in Union County, NC on November 14, 1934 to the late Mittie Williams and Oscar William Watkins. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Watkins will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, May 20, 2019 at West Monroe Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Nixon, and Rev. Marty Watkins officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12:30 PM in the Church Sanctuary. Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara Watkins; son, Marty Watkins and wife Terry; and his daughter, Tammy Watkins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, and 5 sisters. Holland Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
