Dateline: Wadesboro Ms. Helen Argie Melton Rowell, 86, passed away July 9, 2019 at her residence. Ms. Rowell was born in Union County, NC on January 21, 1933 to the late Hurley Jefferson Melton and Cora Lee Griffin Melton. She will always be remembered as a mad lover of sports, she loved her garden and being outdoors, and homemaking. But most importantly she was a very kind hearted person who loved her children and grandchildren very much. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Arnold (Martha), Roger (Katherine), and Timothy; daughters, Phyllis Burgess (Larry), Davlyn Rhyner (Joel) and Lisa White; sister, Lillian Lewis (George); 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Rowell. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Holland Funeral Service on Friday, July 12, 2019. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Pope officiating. Holland Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
