� Harvey James Helms, 66, of Matthews, NC, passed away March 4, 2018. He was born in Union County on April 25, 1951 to the late Margie and Bernice Helms. �Harvey was a creative man. His imagination and love of nature was depicted in his drawings. He was so meticulous in the details of the miniature log cabins he would build. He was a cowboy at heart. Younger Harvey rode horses, he loved country music, and played the guitar. He belonged under the stars playing music. He was full of jokes and loved to laugh. Harvey may have appeared quiet to others, but the ones he loved knew the true funny, creative, big hearted man we all loved. He will be missed but always loved and remembered by smiles. Mr. Helms leaves behind his sons, Daniel Helms, Kevin Helms; brother, Rick Helms; sisters, Margie Wright, Robbie Dellinger; grandchildren, Jesse James, Alexis, Justin, Aaron, Jazlynn; and greatgrandchild, Jadore. Along with his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Helms and Jerry Helms. A visitation will be held on Wednesday March 7, 2018 at Unity Baptist Church in Indian Trail from 12:30 PM – 1:45 PM.
