George Washington Smith, 91, passed away February 28, 2019. George was born in Lancaster, SC on July 9, 1927 to the late George and Delilah Smith. He proudly served our country during WWII. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Monroe Seventh Day Adventist Church. The family will receive friends 1 hour before the service from 1:00 PM - 1:45 PM. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens immediately following the service. Surviving are his sons, Stan Smith (Debbie), Ben Smith (Patricia); his daughter Peggy Huffman (Keith); 10 Grandchildren and 19 Great grandchildren; and a sister Bonnie Green (F.L.) who lives in Charlotte. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary M. Smith; his son Steve Smith; and 6 siblings. Holland Funeral Service and Crematory is serving the family.
