� Dr. George T. Mills, age 95, died on June 14, 2016 in Monroe, North Carolina. He was the son on the late Charles and Ina Mills, of Memphis, Tennessee, on September 25, 1920. He practiced medicine for 40 years in Memphis, before moving to Monroe in 2000, and practicing for 24 more years in Anson and Union Counties. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm, on July 16, 2016, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Monroe. Dr. Mills is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Fay Mills, and his two sons, Thomas Mills (Deanette) of Monroe, and Dr. Robert Mills (Joyce) of Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is also survived by two daughters, Joan Banks (Robert) of Warrenton, Virginia, and Carolyn Mills (Craig Hunter) of Wellington, New Zealand. He also has seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Adams (Tam) of Monroe, Rebecca Carpenter (Robert) of Monroe, Dr. Christina Birsan (Andrei) of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Dr. Jonathan Mills (Joann) of Charleston, South Carolina Zachary Mills of Loma Linda, California, Timothy Banks, of Los Angeles, California, and Emily Banks of Richmond, Virginia. He also has two great-grandchildren, Lianna Carpenter of Monroe, and Evan Carpenter of Monroe.
