Fay V. Mills, age 93, died on April 27, 2019 in Monroe, North Carolina. She was born on July 9, 1925, in Aquila, Texas, the daughter of the late Robert and Harriet Vaughan. She was married to Dr. George T. Mills in 1946 in Memphis, Tennessee. They lived there with their family for 41 years before moving to Monroe in 2000. They were married for 69 years until her husband's death in 2016. A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Mills at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Monroe at 3007 Weddington Rd. Ms. Mills is survived by two sons, Thomas Mills (Deanette) of Monroe, and Robert Mills (Joyce) of Chattanooga, Tennessee, as well as two daughters, Joan Banks (Robert) of Staunton, Virginia and Carolyn Mills (Craig Hunter) of Wellington, New Zealand. She also has seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Adams (Tam) of Monroe, Rebecca Carpenter (Robert) of Monroe, Christina Birsan (Andrei) of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Jonathan Mills (Joann) of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Zachary Mills of Birmingham, Alabama, Timothy Banks, of Los Angeles, California. She also has two great-grandchildren, Lianna Carpenter of Monroe, and Evan Carpenter of Monroe.
