Dateline: Monroe Eugene "Butch" Ava Griswold, 65, passed away October 24, 2019. Butch was born on January 14, 1954 in Landstul, Germany to the late Eugene Perry Griswold and Simone Camille Mullen Helms. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:30 PM Monday, October 28, 2019 at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM at Blakely's Funeral Service. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Eugene "Butch" Aaron Griswold; daughter, Christy Griswold (Derek Phillips); brother, Robert Griswold; sisters, Erin Smith, and Debbie Jones; sister-in-laws, Tina Hill, Dawn Garris, Jackie Carpenter, Mechelle Baucom; 9 grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Debra Sue Griswold; and brothers, Terry Griswold, and Jonathan Martin.
