Ms. Ethel Morgan Thomas, 91, passed away June 26, 2020. She was born February 16, 1929 to the late Brady Morgan and Leona Hinson Morgan.
Ethel Morgan grew up in a farming community in the Fairview area, Union County, North Carolina. She was Salutatorian of her class at Fairview High School. Ethel furthered her education by attending Wingate College where she played basketball and graduated with her associate's degree in Business.
Ethel met Gene Thomas and they were married on May 29th, 1948. Together they settled in Monroe, NC and raised their family with strong Christian values. Ethel made an amazing pineapple cake and she also made the best biscuits.
Ethel pursued various careers until she discovered her true passion in real estate and started Thomco Reality in 1976. She continued her career until just prior to her passing.
It was the deepest desire of Ethel's heart that each one of her children accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Most people would agree that Ethel was most the positive person that they had ever encountered. She always encouraged her children, telling them that they could accomplish anything in life. She always kept them in church and still as adults questioned each one on their attendance every Sunday.
It was a common practice of Ethel to read through the entire Bible twice per year. Throughout her life, she strove to strengthen her walk with Jesus Christ and is now resting securely in His arms.
