Eddie Meek Gardner

Eddie Meek Gardner Jr., 81, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

Eddie was born on November 19, 1944, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, to Eddie Meek Gardner Sr. and Blanche Bolin Gardner. He proudly served his country as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division.

Following his military service, Eddie became a hardworking and respected businessman. He was the owner and operator of GC Tile Company, where he built a reputation for skill, dedication, and integrity. His strong work ethic and commitment to his craft were evident throughout his career.

Eddie is survived by his son, Jeffrey Gardner; daughter, Whitney Gardner; sister, Ann Benfield; and his beloved grandchildren Courtney Taylor (Jesse), Nickolas Gardner, and Elizabeth Gardner.

Eddie was preceded in death by his life partner, Delphia Moser Griffin.

A man of strong faith, Eddie was an active and dedicated member of Hope Second Advent Christian Church in Monroe, North Carolina, where he found community, purpose, and fellowship. In his later years, Eddie especially enjoyed meeting with his friends every morning for coffee and biscuits at Hardee’s, a cherished routine that brought him joy and meaningful connections.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on April 26, 2026, at 3pm, at Hope Second Advent Christian Church, located at 6804 Morgan Mill Road, Unionville, NC 28110. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eddie’s name to Hope Second Advent Christian Church.

Eddie will be remembered for his service to his country, his strong faith, his hardworking spirit, and the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
