Dustin Dale Manus, 34, passed away March 29, 2020 in his home on Wolf Pond Road. He was born on December 17, 1985 to Kim Gill and the late Dale Manus. Although Dusty was not raised by his biological father, he did have two very influential men in his life, Terry Helms and Jody Gill, who both loved him like a son. Dusty was a very loving person who would give whatever he had to anyone he knew, and was a wonderful father who loved his children. Although we mourn because of the loss of Dusty, we do not mourn like those who have no hope. Dusty's profession of faith in Jesus Christ sustains us in this moment of grief.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am until 7:00pm on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC, 28112. A private graveside will be held at a later date.
Those left to cherish his memory, his children, Trenton, Rylan, and Thomas; his fiancé Elizabeth Daley, parents, Kim and Jody Gill, Terry Helms; sister, Brandi Manus and her son Lochlan Acker, step-sisters, Angel and Brittany Gill, maternal grandparents, Bill and Jennie Ward, uncle, Scott Ward, paternal grandparents, Betsy and David Manus, aunts, Cindy, Angela, and Charlotte; special friends, Ben and Zack Helms, all of his Ground 40 brothers, and many other very special family members and friends.
Though Dusty was a great father, son, and friend, Dusty struggled where many do in seeking a way of escape, he reached out for help to become the man God wanted him to be. We understand deliverance looks different for many different people, though Dusty struggled with an addiction we believe that he has found freedom by the sovereign hand of God. In honor of Dusty and his heart for people, we want you to know that if you or somebody you know are struggling with anything, that you are not alone and there are people who want to help you. If you have any questions about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, we would ask that you would reach out to one of the pastors at Lee Park Church or one of the staff at Ground 40 or any local church. As you pray tonight would you cover our family with prayers of healing and comfort, and cover his children with protection, in Jesus' name.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in honor of Dusty to Ground 40, 303 Dale St., Monroe, NC 28112 or at https://ground40.com/donate/
