Obituary

Dianne Frohwitter, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 2, 2026. She was born January 25, in Wind Gap, Pennsylvania to the late Gregory and Evelyn Lessig. Dianne will be remembered for the love she demonstrated to others. She owned a ceramics shop where she enjoyed sharing her passion with her community. She especially enjoyed a weekly class that she held for the blind to help foster inclusion and creativity. As a woman of strong faith who loved the Lord, Dianne attended Christ Lutheran Church in Schoenersville, Pennsylvania. Dianne also cherished the simple pleasures in life. She loved celebrating Christmas, having picnics at home, shopping, and cherished every beach trip she was able to go on with her beloved friends. Above all else, she cherished her family. Being surrounded by those she loved brought her the greatest joy.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 12:00pm at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112. A visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service at 11:00am until 11:45am.

In addition to her parents, Dianne is preceded in passing by her loving husband, John Frohwitter. John was the love of her life, and the two were married on March 1, 1967. Additionally, she is preceded by her daughter, Alison Itterly, brothers, Gregory Lessig, Bruce Lessig, and Wayne Lessig.

Dianne is survived by her children, John C. Itterly III (Donna), Susan Race, Diana Southard, Debra Frohwitter Belles, and Laura Foulke; 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 4 nieces, and 3 nephews.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior; free from pain and reunited with the loved ones who went before her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

The family would like to sincerely thank Kimberly Brooks, her caregiver, that assisted in the care of their mother, and in turn became family. We are forever grateful for her. We are also thankful for the kindness and comfort given by the caring staff at Atrium Hospice in Monroe.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Leukemia Society.
