Mr. Dewitt Tarlton, 89, transitioned to Heaven on Saturday, February 22, 2020. Dewitt was born in Matthews on February 4, 1931 to the late William and Kate Tarlton. Dewitt leaves behind his daughter, Judy Helms (Gene), four grandchildren, Jody McLemore, Jacob Helms, Michael Tarlton,Randy Tarlton, and 5 great-granddaughters. He is survived by two sisters, Betty Lee Starnes (McRae), and Doris Staton (Lynn). In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Dewitt "Dee" Tarlton Jr., three brothers, Jimmy Tarlton, Brady Tarlton, and Johnny Tarlton; three sisters, Nellie Shields, Margaret Starnes, and Dorothy Bethea. The family would like to thank Liberty Heath Care, Hospice of Union County, and Neighborhood Nurses. The family would also like to express their appreciation and gratitude for the excellent care provided by Carli, Jody, Samantha, Kamela, Lateric, Paris, and Angela.
